The Purple Support Celebration of Excellence Awards shine a light on the incredible dedication, compassion, and professionalism of our teams - Purple Family. These awards are more than recognition. They highlight the heart of what we do: empowering participants, living our values, and striving for excellence in every aspect of support. By acknowledging achievements in areas like person-centred care, teamwork, adaptability, and innovation, we celebrate the everyday heroes who make a lasting impact. Most importantly, this celebration creates a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the incredible contributions of those who embody the heart and spirit of Purple Support.
Who Can Nominate?
Nominations can be submitted by a wide range of people connected to Purple Support, including:
- Work colleagues or anyone from the Purple Support team
- Participants, their families, or guardians
- Allied health professionals
- Members of the public
- Self-nominations
How Are the Awards Judged?
Each year, a dedicated judging panel made up of three appointed individuals carefully reviews all nominations. Judging is based on the strength and quality of the nomination, with a focus on clear evidence of impact and alignment with the award criteria.
When Do Nominations Open?
Nominations open each year on 15th April at midnight (Australian Central Standard Time).
When Do Nominations Close?
All nominations must be submitted by 31st May at midnight (Australian Central Standard Time) using the provided nomination link.

Yes, I Can – The Purple Support Way
Celebrates individuals who embody the "Yes, I Can" spirit by going above and beyond, showing initiative, and embracing the Purple Support values in their everyday work. This award recognises someone who is always ready to support overcome obstacles with a positive attitude.
Outstanding Person-Centered Support
Acknowledges a staff member who consistently puts participants at the heart of everything they do, tailoring support to individual goals, choices, and needs.
Flexibility & Adaptability
Honours someone who responds effectively to change, remains calm under pressure, and adjusts their time and approach to meet diverse participant needs and urgent situations.
Participant’s Choice – Voted by Participants
This award is chosen by the participants to recognise a staff member who has made a genuine and positive difference in their lives.
Excellence in Personal Care
Celebrates dedication to delivering respectful, dignified, and high-quality personal care that supports participants’ comfort and wellbeing.
Best Supported Independent Living (SIL) House of the Year
Recognises a SIL house that demonstrates excellence in creating a safe, supportive, and vibrant living environment where participants thrive.
Creativity & Innovation in Support
Acknowledges creative thinkers who bring fresh ideas, new approaches, and innovative practices to improve support and participant experiences.
Growth & Development
Recognises individuals who have shown personal or professional growth, embraced learning, and developed their skills to enhance support and always ready to learn.
Employee of the Year (Reflecting Our Values)
The highest individual honour – awarded to someone who consistently demonstrates excellence, lives our values, and inspires others through their commitment and care.
