About the Role
Purple Support is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers for In-Home and Community Activity Support who can provide a person-centered approach that empowers the independence and choice of our participants.
We have participants that require assistance and support with daily living and community participation. Both short and long shifts are available, allowing a great work and lifestyle balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Working various shifts in a week: morning, afternoon, active nights, and weekends
- Supporting participants to live as independently as possible
- Outings in the community include going for walks, shopping, individual and group activities in an activity centre, and more!
- Personal care and support with domestic and household tasks such as menu planning, cooking, and cleaning
Key requirements
- Minimum Certificate III in Community, Aged Care, Disability or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Support Worker
- Minimum 3-4 days availability during the week
- Must have a reliable vehicle, Australian Driver’s License, and ability to travel with comprehensive insurance
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Children’s Check and NDIS worker screening check
- Rights to work in Australia
- A genuine desire to provide quality care and enhance the lives of our Participants
- Reliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular hours ongoing
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide a person-centered approach that empowers the participant’s independence and choice
- Flexibility to work shorter or longer shifts that meet the needs of our clients i.e., morning, day, afternoon, evening, night, sleepovers, active nights, weekends, public holidays
